Alex Gilbert spent the first 2 years of his life in a Russian orphanage before being adopted to a new family and life in New Zealand. 20 years later Alex embarked on a life changing journey to track down and then reunite with his birth parents in Russia.

He documented the whole experience on video and posted it on Facebook. In less than 2 days, Alex’s video received over 2 million views and he was inundated by ‘adoptees’ from around the world – all desperate to find their missing families.

Alex and his I’m Adopted organisation has since helped dozens of people find their missing families.

Now in Reunited, Alex will change peoples lives forever, guiding them on their own journeys across the globe in their search for the families that they never knew.

The Dead Lands is an eight-part New Zealand TV series formed under a partnership between GFC Films, AMC Shudder and TVNZ with assistance from the New Zealand Screen Production Grant.

The Dead Lands is a supernatural adventure that is set in a mythic Māori past. The series features a murdered Māori warrior, Waka Nuku Rau (Te Kohe Tuhaka), who’s sent back to the world of the living to redeem his sins. But the world Waka returns to is ravaged by a breach between life and the afterlife, as the spirits of the newly dead now stalk the land and hunt the living.
